Disaster Assistance Team
The Disaster Assistance Team seeks to go wherever God sends us in the world, to help people in disaster situations put their lives and homes back together, physically as well as spiritually. Our desire is to reach men and women in our body and beyond, teach them the skills necessary to fulfill LCC’s mission statement, and send them throughout the world to use what they have been taught. Another result would be the spiritual growth of team members while witnessing for Christ to those receiving assistance, salvation and comfort.
DAT has served those in suffering after Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Irene, the Amsterdam Tornado, Springfield, Massachusetts Tornado, areas of flooding and Hurricane Sandy. They have also served in many other places to rebuild and construct where needed: Kenya, Congo, Ukraine and many other U.S. towns and churches. DAT has enjoyed joining with Eight Days of Hope multiple times to serve wherever needs are the greatest after natural disasters.
We are proud of our DAT team who has sent a total of 414 people from LCC on Disaster Assistance Trips providing 120 work days to those in need and 17,205 hours of labor!
