Bears Fruit Food Pantry
Through the generosity of specified giving we are able to provide support to people in times when they are “under-resourced” through the provision of food. Each Sunday after the worship services – the Pantry is open to any regular LCC attendee – no appointment is necessary. A simple form is all that is required, mainly so that the Pantry Staff has a way to keep in touch with you.
A team of skilled home maintenance volunteers stand ready to respond to a widow’s home need. The widow makes contact with the coordinators who then begin the process of assigning the project. Funding for needed materials is supported through the Care Group Fund up to $200/project. The labor costs are donated by the volunteers. There are also opportunities for small groups to “adopt a widow” to provide encouragement in personal and practical ways. For more information, contact the Church Office.
If you would like to request assistance for a household needs, contact Don and Ellen Vosburgh at email@example.com or 674-2991.

GriefShare is a compassionate ministry that provides a safe place for people who are grieving the death of a loved one. It is also a place to begin to experience healing and recovery. GriefShare leaders come alongside those who are grieving as companions on a journey from mourning to joy. They listen, encourage and they provide participants with helpful teaching and Christ-centered resources. Each session is thirteen weeks long, but people are welcome at any time throughout the series. Many choose to repeat the session. Some of the topics addressed include Living with Grief, When Your Spouse Dies, Why?, God’s Prescription for Grief and Stuck in Grief. Meetings are held on Tuesdays from 6:30-9:00 PM. For more information contact the Church Office or visit the GriefShare website at http://www.griefshare.org
Our Ministry Staff is available to respond to urgent personal needs and crisis situations. Every weekend an LCC Ministry Staff member is “on-call” and available to respond to emergency situations. They can be reached by calling the Church Office and responding to the message prompts to be connected.
While LCC does not provide professional counseling services, referrals can be made to local Christian counselors for ongoing care.
The DivorceCare ministry is intended to bring acceptance and help to those who are experiencing separation or divorce. DivorceCare helps participants deal with the pain of their past by offering them Jesus, the only true healer, so that they can have hope to rebuild their lives. The professional DVD-based series offers a different teaching of a divorce-related topic each week. There is also a time of group support allowing a discussion time for participants to share what they are experiencing weekly and to relate the teaching to their lives. DivorceCare is led by people who understand both the pain of divorce and have experienced healing in Jesus Christ. Some of the seminar topics include: Facing My Anger, Facing My Depression, Facing My Loneliness, New Relationships, Financial Survival, KidCare, Forgiveness, and Moving On, and Growing Closer to God. Meetings are on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 PM; new members may come any week of the thirteen sessions. DivorceCare is open to the LCC community as well as the broader community. To learn more about this ministry for yourself or someone you know – visit the DivorceCare website at www.divorcecare.org or contact the Church Office.
