Care Ministries
Care
Ministries reach out to others in times of need and help those who
cannot help themselves.
Stephen Ministry
- Carl Noakes, Director of Congregational Care
The Stephen Ministry is an LCC program that equips lay people to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both at LCC and in the community.
The Stephen Ministry is comprised of "Stephen Ministers," who:
· express God's care through their lives to others;
· receive 50 hours of initial training in important caring ministry skills and concepts;
· visit another person regularly and dependably and offer Christian support and care;
· participate in regular support and supervision under the guidance of trained Stephen Leaders;
· are committed to preserving the confidential nature of the caring relationship;
· serve for at least two years;
· receive continuing education and skill-building throughout their years of service.
For more information on the Stephen Ministry, please contact Carl Noakes, Director of Congregational Care, at the Church Office (426-0751).

Bears Fruit Pantry
- Elaine Houck and Cynthia Furlong
The Bears Fruit Food Pantry provides spiritual and physical support to those in need within Loudonville Community Church and in the surrounding communities. The Food Pantry derives its name from John 15:8, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” The congregation makes monetary donations as well as contributes food, personal care items, Bibles and devotional materials throughout the month. A wheeled cart is located just inside the Commons Main Entrance for the collection of food/supplies. These resources are distributed with prayer and care to individuals and families in need.
If you are interested in joining the team (extra help is needed at Thanksgiving), please visit the Bears Fruit Food Pantry bulletin board for monthly meeting information. There are so many ways to serve Him through the Pantry!
Care Group Committee
- Bill Wood
The Care Group Committee exists to express Christ-like love to those in need within the congregation of LCC. The Care Group Committee administers the funds that are donated by the congregation to the Care Group on the first Sunday of each month. These funds are used to meet various needs in accordance with established policies and procedures of the Care Group Fund. In addition, the Care Group oversees other LCC care ministries in an effort to coordinate and provide help for specific needs. The Care Group Committee, and its related ministries, provide financial help, groceries, help with car-repairs, prepared meals, manpower for moving, and many other helpful things. Inquiries and requests for help can be directed to the Church Office or to any member of the Care Group Committee.
Each Care Group Committee member oversees a segment of the church family based on geographical regions. Current members of the Committee are: Harriet DeLaMater, Ron DeLaMater, Elizabeth D'Ettorre, Tom D’Ettorre, Bob Houck, Carl Noakes (Director of Congregational Care), Tim Root, Monica Seeber, Don Vosburgh, and Bill Wood (Chair).
We look forward to expanding the Care Ministries this coming year as we work closely with Carl Noakes, LCC's Director of Congregational Care. If you have a desire to help and encourage people, this ministry could be for you. If you would like more information on how you might serve, please call Bill Wood, 674-3026.
HELPS Ministry
- Steve Brickman
The HELPS Ministry assists church families in crisis or need by providing non-financial physical support, assistance, and/or manpower when genuine needs arise. This ministry depends on many volunteers from the congregation. To volunteer, simply contact the ministry leader who will call and inquire of your availability as needs arise. The HELPS Ministry serves as an extension of the Care Group Committee. If you need assistance from the HELPS Ministry, call the ministry leader, a member of the Care Group Committee, or the Church Office.
Meals & Ministry
- Shelly Smith & Mary Jo Brown
Meals & Ministry ministers to the church family by providing meals during stressful times such as illness, injury, birth, moving or the death of a family member. This ministry is an extension of the Care Group Committee. Volunteers who prepare and deliver meals are usually called upon only once or twice a year. When called, if it is an inconvenient time, volunteers always have the option to defer. Volunteers are needed to keep this ministry active and successful. To report a need or to add your name to our list of volunteers, please call the Meals & Ministry leaders or the Church Office at 426-0751.
DivorceCare
- Jeff & Chris Dugrenier
DivorceCare is a special weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. At DivorceCare, you will become part of a small support group of people who are also experiencing separation and divorce. You’ll meet others who understand what you are feeling and who will be able to offer you encouragement. You’ll also have a chance to talk about the information presented during the DivorceCare seminar. Many participants say these support groups are the most helpful part of the program. DivorceCare meets on Tuesday evenings at LCC. Call the Church Office at 426-0751 for more information.
Grief Share
GriefShare is a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. This group is sponsored by people who understand what grieving people are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time. Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos also include on-location video and the real-life stories of people who have experienced loss. After the video, participants will have the opportunity to interact with others who have experienced a recent loss. This class meets on Thursdays. Call the church office at 426-0751 if you need more information.
