ChildrenSonShine Station
The LCC Nursery (Sonshine Station) exists to serve families by providing care that expresses God's deep love for children age four and under. A Team Leader oversees the whole Nursery operation of volunteers and parental needs; vibrating pagers are available for parents. Care is given during the regular services and holiday services. We have created a system that prevents non-custodial parents or strangers from gaining access to the children. Volunteers who serve on a rotating schedule support the Team Leaders. Contact Jeannie Browning at geneandjeannie4@gmail.com for more information.
J.A.M. (Children's Church)
Children in Grades 1-4 worship and pray under the guidance of adults and teens who have an authentic relationship with Jesus and desire to mentor children spiritually during the 11:15 AM worship service. Beginners (ages 3-4) meet together for the entire 11:15 AM service. J.A.M. (children in Grades 1-4) and Kinderkids (Kindergarteners) begin the hour worshiping in the sanctuary with their parents. After the offering, they are dismissed for their own worship and prayer. LCC adults along with teen leaders love and disciple the children. Check the Worship Guide or call the Church Office for ages, places and locations. Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a week-long program for children in grades K-8. The summer camp atmosphere provides a week of informal activities aimed at using the arts to communicate and study the Scriptures. Talented instructors provide workshops for those in grades 4-8 to learn skills in the arts and in service, while grades K-3 are busy exploring drama, music, food and Scripture through the theme of choice. This year VBS will be held on July 16-20. The kids will be studying Daniel from the Old Testament. LCC will also be taking VBS to our neighbrohoods later in the summer. Stay tuned for more information in the coming days.
Kid Connection
Kids ages five and up are provided with the opportunity to connect to one another in groups that meet throughout the Capital District during the week. Children are led by adult mentors as the group studies both the Word of God and kid-friendly topics of interest. Please see the list below for the current available topics, ages and locations. The girls’ clubs will meet in various locations throughout the Capital District. They will spend their club time doing a Bible study together as well as other fun activities such as crafts, games, cooking, etc. Because the club is meeting closer to your home, you can get to know people who live near you and the club groups might choose to get involved with things happening in the local community. Girls K-6 are invited to join a club. Contact us to find the nearest club to you and your family!
Three father/son clubs will meet at LCC on Wednesdays. Fathers join their sons for this midweek discipleship club that encourages spiritual growth for both father and son and encourages fathers to spiritually mentor their sons. Format will include midweek small group meetings as well as monthly excursions such as hiking, biking, sporting events, etc.
A coed art club is available to kids ages six and up. Kids will learn how to appreciate art made by a few great artists of the world through exploration of the materials those artists used and do a Bible study too.
